• Itinerary for plane and hotel room....check

• Macy's gift card for the Bride and Groom (makes traveling a whole lot easier)....check

• Clothes and toiletries....oh wait...got to pack those things, eh?

My bags are almost packed...I'm almost ready to go....I'll take a valium.... 2 hours before the show....so I can sit back in my seat and not panic soooooo....

I'm leavin' on a jet plane, Friday...but, I know when I'll be back again, Wednesday!

i just bought a 7 million dollar home!!!!

....er, uh...for my camera!

It's a Crumpler photo bag and it holds my Canon XTi w/ kit lens 18-55mm and my other lenses:

70-300mm...
and my newest 'nifty fifty' -50mm......
and it will hold my fisheye & macro lens as soon as that arrives in the mail!

I also can tuck in an extra battery and charger, extra cards, filters, cleaning kit, etc...and will stash my wallet and whatnot, so I don't have to carry a purse when doing photography.

I am totally stoked! I just need to find the snap on/pop up shade for my LCD screen and I'm good to go!!!

practicing my photography skills....tried this shot for the wedding, using my ring and digital field guide to practice. See the heart shadow? I think we'll try this with Beth and Alex's wedding rings in a set of scriptures...hmmm?

...and I mean a few! Good thing Wendy was the photographer and not me! My pics were mostly blurry. My eyesight is so bad anymore and I was all jumbled Saturday with the flower girl (Carson) whining at me the whole time and people asking me about the cakes I made....I had a hard time taking photos. (I better improve before this next weekend...taking photos at Glenni's son's wedding...yikes!)

Glenni's niece (Zoe), gave this dress to Carson last year...it's perfect for Dar's daughter's wedding this coming Saturday. We'll fix her hair up and add the white roses head wreath, but just wanted to share a few snaps of Carson in the dress.

swim lessons...

Cameron and Carson took a total of 4 weeks of swim lessons at our local YMCA. They loved going and learning the strokes and hanging with the other kids. They will resume more lessons come Spring '09.

Here's a few highlights of one of the days I actually brought my camera:

I watch in the evenings and have enjoyed it all thus far!
I was a swimmer, so swimming is one of my faves to watch.

I am waiting to see some of the other different sports...like trampoline! (seriously).

The synchronized diving is amazing....but I can't help from thinking about Harry Shearer, Martin Short and Christopher Guest giving us a glimpse into the world of synchronized swimming....SNL skit.

Oh yea...I got the visual as soon as they mentioned Jack Black in Nacho Libre:

 "Chancho, When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants...in your room. It's for fun."

... and stretchy pants, swimsuits, leotards, cycling shorts is what we are seeing at the Olympics...along with a few gold, silver and bronze medals to boot, so it's all gooooooood.

Nacho: Ok. Orphans! Listen to Ignacio. I know it is fun to wrestle. A nice piledrive to the face... or a punch to the face... but you cannot do it. Because, it is in the Bible not to wrestle your neighbour.
Chancho: So you've never wrestled?
Nacho: Me? No. Come on. Don't be crazy. I know the wrestlers get all the fancy ladies, and the clothes, and the fancy creams and lotions. But my life is good! Really good! I get to wake up every morning, at 5AM, and make some soup! It's the best. I love it. I get to lay in a bed, all by myself, all of my life! That's fantastic! Go. Go away! Read some books!
